This talk examines contemporary fascism and resistance in Iran and the diaspora in the wake of the latest protest wave. It outlines the current configuration of the regime and its opponents, situating the uprising within ongoing strike waves and a deepening economic crisis. It then turns to state violence, embodied resistance, and renewed calls for foreign intervention. What has been done to these bodies that some now perceive foreign bombs as their only escape from the regime?
Fascism seeks to close off the future. The talk, therefore, concludes by confronting the question of political imagination in Iran and beyond, insisting that liberation cannot be national—it must be regional.
There will be time for questions at the end of the session.
