Far-right and ethnonationalist ideas are becoming increasingly visible among youth in the Netherlands — through political organisation, protest, and digital culture. Groups such as JongerenForum voor Democratie (JFVD) and Geuzenbond frame young people as defenders of a threatened Dutch identity, while exclusionary narratives gain traction both on the streets and online.
This session asks: why are these ideas resonating with young people today? Which groups are most impacted, and what emotions does fascist messaging tap into?
After a short introduction by ROOD, we will move from analysis to action. Participants will collectively build a practical “toolbox” of responses, developing Narrative, Organisational and Intervention tools to develop concrete strategies to counter fascism among youth.
