Tijdens deze workshop zal Virginie haar ideeën over communicatie en hoe mensen te bereiken, uiteenzetten. Aan de hand van voorbeelden zal ze ons inspireren creatief om te gaan met beeld en woord om mensen mee aan het denken te zetten.
Virginie Moerenhout is een sociaal geëngageerd kunstenares. Door middel van haar werk wil ze mensen aan het denken zetten over maatschappelijke issues. Een van haar bekendste projecten is Dictator Chips.

It is Art, disguised as a brand sales-pitch. Its a Commercial Chips-Brand-Sales-Pitch disguised as Art. It is luring you to think about stuff thats too complicated and heavy to deal with. Its about opportunism and connections. About the dictator in you. How power corrupts. And absolute power corrupts absolute. Its not about a man or woman, but about the system. Your place in it. the power you have and have not. We are subjects of Propaganda, and the fabricators of it as well. Brainwashed consumers who choose symbols over substance.

Door een mooi beeld te combineren met een letterlijk verwrongen en wrange boodschap, slaagt Virginie erin om mensen in verwarring te brengen en stil te laten staan bij grote maatschappelijke kwesties, en te wijzen op de hypocrisie van het heersende discours. Op deze manier slaagt de kunstenares barsten in de schone schijn.
