Who is excluded from your struggles? Who is represented and who is not? How can we start to organize so that we do not reproduce oppressive power dynamics, language and structures within our movements?
Intersectionality is a tool for understanding and responding to interlocking systems of domination (kimberle crenshaw) within the white supremacist imperialist ableist capitalist heteropatriarchy (bell hooks). This concept has been developed by black feminists to acknowledge that our everyday experiences of oppression are shaped by our multiple identities and positions in society.
In this workshop we will develop strategies for solidarity between people with different identities and different struggles based on intersectional thinking. Who is excluded from your struggles? Who is represented and who is not? How can we start to organize so that we do not reproduce oppressive power dynamics, language and structures within our movements?
This workshop is the result of a collaboration between Feministisch Verzet and Redmond Amsterdam.
